The depression isn't too bad today. I did wake up with a headache but it was not a killer. A few tylenol and some caffeine took care of it. I also was working my way into a panic attack this morning and so I took a couple of the clonozepams. They helped enormously. Now I'm floating in a devil may care attitude. I think the headache fed off the panic attack. It hung around until the clonozepam took effect.
Did I say daywork blows? Well it does. I have a trainee SS with me today. He is taking care of all of the paperwork and drudgery but the thing is I count on that to help the day pass by. Now the day is dragging.
We had Miah again last night. In the last month he has grown up so much. He is talking in complete sentences and although I can't always understand him my wife and his mother can. He is ready to be potty trained. When he starts bringing a diaper in to be changed he is old enough for the potty even though he is not yet 2 years old. If he is old enough to know he made a mess in his diaper then he is old enough to know to use the potty. That's my thoughts on it anyway and my wife agrees. She bought him training pants and rubber pants just this past weekend. The issue will be getting his mother to work with him as we do the same. Sometimes she just can't be bothered even though she really has to be.
I want to go to the theater in Pitman this weekend. Barefoot in the Park is playing and it's in it's final week. I really know nothing about the show. I just want to get out and it seems like a nice thing to do. We typically go to dinner across the street from the theater first then see the show. It's pricey but classy restaurant and it is conveniently right across the street from the theater. Surprisingly few theater goes take advantage of it likely because of it's prices but I figure what the hell. May as well go the full route if we're going to do it. Hopefully decent seats will be available in the restaurant AND the theater or we probably won't go.
It's going up to a whopping 38 degF today. Some of this snow and ice should start to melt at last. Just a little bit melted away each day and we will soon enough be rid of it. The weekend is supposed to see temps in the low 40's so that is even better. We won't hit the 50's again until sometime next week.
I have a week's vacation in a week and a half. We are going to NC. My wife has a laundry list of things she wants to get done down there so it will be a working vacation. But hell... anything away from this place is fine by me. I'll be nightworks that weekend and so we will leave Monday morning dark and early right after work. My wife will have to go to bed early the night before so that she is fit and ready for the 9 to 10 hour drive down there. I will probably sleep most of the way since I will be working the night before. The only problem with leaving right after work is that we will hit Washington right at rush hour. That's always fun. But I know my wife well enough to know that she will not take too keenly to any suggestion that we wait a few hours before leaving. She'll argue arrival times as usual.
Well be good people. Stay strong and all of that good stuff. Remember the magic found in smiles and hugs and laughter. It can change your life for the better if you let it.
